Who we are

Meritxell Maset, technical director

Technical director of the Jove Orquestra de les Comarques Gironines and coordinator of the Cobla i Corda Symphony of Catalonia, she combines her management side with teaching.

As a music education teacher, she dedicates most of her professional life to teaching. On the one hand, as a primary school teacher in a public school, and as a professor in the Early Childhood and Primary School Teacher Degree studies at the Faculty of Education and Psychology of the University of Girona. On the other hand, she has extensive experience in the world of music schools, especially in the project of the Escola de Música Activa La Flauta Màgica in Figueres.

Involved with the cultural associative fabric through the Joventuts Musicals movement, specifically in Girona and Figueres, being part of its boards of directors.

He is enthusiastic about educational projects that have music as the protagonist, and participates in musical initiatives that promote the talent of young musicians and their human and musical development.

Jaume Lleixà, artistic director

Passionate about music and languages, he has developed his professional activity mainly in the field of cultural management and technical and artistic coordination of symphony orchestras such as the Orquestra Simfònica del Vallès, the Orquestra Simfònica Segle XXI and the Orquestra de Cadaqués.

On the pedagogical side, he leads educational projects understood as professionalization mechanisms for young talents.

He has completed this vocation with solid business experience. A lover of traveling and practicing the languages ​​he knows, he has devised and coordinated numerous cultural and social projects, to bring knowledge closer to all areas of our society, with the firm conviction that together we can build a better world.

He is artistic director of the Jove Orquestra de les Comarques Gironines, technical director of the Simfònica de Cobla i Corda de Catalunya and artistic coordinator of the Metalquimia Foundation.

Metalquimia Foundation

The METALQUIMIA Foundation, created in Girona under the auspices of the company METALQUIMIA, SAU, began its activity in 2015.

The objective of the Foundation is to encourage, promote, incentivize, sponsor and carry out actions that boost creativity and innovation (Creativity) in the different areas of society, whether business, social, cultural, scientific-technological or educational.

The Metalquimia Foundation is inspired by the creative spirit and desire and the desire to try to contribute to improving the educational, cultural and social level of people. Creativación is a neologism, devised by one of the founding patrons, Josep Lagares. It results from the union of the concepts Creativity and Innovation by forming an acronym with the two words and refers to the action of using creativity to systematically convert it into innovation.
